Are you the next Empire Times Editor?
We’re looking for the 2026 editorial team to lead the magazine — shaping its creative direction, curating content, and working with a vibrant community of student writers, artists, and photographers.
As an editor, you’ll have the chance to develop your own ideas, build professional skills, and leave your mark on one of the longest-running student publications in South Australia. You don’t need to be an expert designer or professional writer — just organised, creative, and passionate about amplifying student voices.
Key Responsibilities
Content Development: Write, edit, and commission articles, interviews, opinion pieces, and creative submissions from students.
Contributor Support: Recruit, support, and coordinate a diverse team of student writers, artists, and photographers.
Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all content follows copyright laws, editorial standards, and FUSA’s inclusivity and equity policies.
Promotion & Engagement: Work with FUSA staff to promote Empire Times across campus and online, encouraging readership and participation.
Benefits
Receive an honorarium in recognition of your contribution (amounts will be confirmed once the 2026 SSAF budget is finalised).
Be part of a team that amplifies student voices and creativity on campus.
Build a professional portfolio with real-world editorial experience.
Collaborate with a vibrant community of student creatives.
Develop leadership, communication, and project management skills.
